‘Till the End of The Republic

Hello again all. Hope everyone is safe and well. Today I’d like to talk about the recent overturn of Roe v. Wade. As a Born Again Christian I believe in free will; the idea that God gave us the ability to choose between him and Satan.
Although the constitution doesn’t specifically give us this right it had been argued that the right was implied or “enumerated“ like I heard it being phrased at the confirmation hearings for Justice Kitanji Brown.
Similar to it is the right to privacy which was won in Griswold v. Connecticut which has been under assault I believe since the Patriot Act pushed through Congress after 9/11.
I once saw on T.V. someone mention that President Obama said we are trying to make America a Democracy. I agree with this as America is actually a Republic - we elect representatives to vote for us in Congress and ultimately for President as represented by the Electoral College.
The Roman Empire was also a Republic as were similar empires that at the time represented the largest physical achievement of mankind. Great buildings were erected, monuments made, and forms of Governments displayed.
However great atrocities were witnessed as well as some of the cruelest behavior of mankind in these regimes.
Jesus taught during the time of the Roman Empire. The Hebrews were colonized and the Disciples spread the Gospel. The Egyptian Empire saw the enslavement of the Hebrews. Hitler’s Third Reich saw the holocaust of the Jews. And America was a product of the slave trade.
I believe the extent of our ability to choose lies in how we worship God. Others may feel differently, but there is no doubt that choice is a key factor in a person’s choice to follow God. To that extent, I also believe America’s blessing is because of its honoring of freedoms and, ultimately, we will be judged according to how we CHOOSE to exercise it.
Until next time, remember God loves you and so do I.
