Hello everyone, today's blog focuses on the division we see in this country as a result of January 6 and the 2020 election. While Trump continues to use these events as a form of conflict, President Biden and Democrats continue to use them as a means to convict President Trump.

Talking to a friend not too long ago I pointed out how President Biden used a drive-in movie theater stocked with pick-up trucks and people wearing masks for a rally during his run. The scene looked reminiscent of Iraq during the Second Gulf War with the the pick-ups resembling something the then insurgents used and Trump's inspired coup looked like something out of the French Revolution.

I came to the conclusion that what happened that day was like the Boston Massacre which was a precursor the American Revolution. The major similarity being the deaths of Crispus Attucks, a black man and first casualty, and the white woman killed while storming the capitol. Both sets of events were used to inspire revolution.

The result of January 6, left us with two leaders: Biden (officially) and Trump (unofficially). Until he is successfully convicted of leading the storming, President Trump will continue to be the leader of about half of the country.

I am reminded of the split of the Roman Catholic Church in 1054 A.D. which left two forms of Catholicism: Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox. After this event, people had two choices of how to worship God. The division in this country is similar in that it is founded on fundamental issues on how the Republic should be run. Democrats seem willing to fight to make this country a Democracy while Republicans seem to want to hold on to the Republic.

Either way, Americans are left with a fundamental choice (even though the overturning of Roe v. Wade is an ultimate attack on choice): continue to live in a repressive Republic or strive to create a Democracy that truly gives the power to the people.

Until next time, remember, God loves you and so do I.
