Already Crying

Hello all. After watching the news of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas I was forced to look at 9/11 and the fallout afterwards as a reference. Watching NBA Head Coach Steve Kerr's emotional appeal added fuel to the fire. I mention 9/11 because in the aftermath I remember some Christians opined that 9/11 was allowed by God as a punishment for America because it had strayed from its path.
I also remember right before the terrorists attack that day, America seemed to be asleep and occupied with the pursuit of the dollar. It also didn't help that the administration at that time was being run by those who benefited from illegal activities at the polls during the 2000 election and believed by many to have stolen the election from Sen. Al Gore.
What does this have to do with the shootings? I believe that our blessing may have been rescinded, or "put on hold" because we have failed to adequately deal with the murder of George Floyd. His convicted killer Derek Chauvin recently won his appeal and was given a lighter sentence. In this light, the non-verbal statement that Black's lives are less than others is once again given voice. If this is affirmed by courts who are more afraid of white scrutiny than the voice of the world's population then an entire sect of the country's population are being told that it is O.K. to be the targets of racist homicidal whites and that they may become the victims of murder and many never reach a point where they can even have children and empathize with those who have lost children.
Earlier today, I thought about my departed father and how he, and other Dads, were, for a good part of their lives, the "strong silent type." I recollected and remembered that I had never seen my father or grandfather cry. In tough situations and through the trials of life they remained calm and loving. In a sense they were crying on the inside or as today's title suggests, already crying.
Until next time, remember God loves you and so do I.
